Charles and Denise both come from proud military families who chose to make the Fort Walton Beach area their home after retiring in the 1970s. Introduced through mutual friends one spring evening, they quickly formed a meaningful connection and became engaged soon after. Their love story grew into a lifelong partnership rooted in faith, compassion, and a shared commitment to serving others.
As newlyweds, Charles and Denise became active members of Way of Life Unity Center, where they were deeply inspired by the spiritual teachings and principles established by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. Those teachings became the foundation of their marriage, family life, and shared purpose, guiding them through every season of life together.
In the summer of 1992, they joyfully welcomed their first child through adoption, followed by their second child in the winter of 1998. Throughout the years, they devoted themselves not only to raising their family, but also to serving their community with compassion, dedication, and integrity.
Charles faithfully served the local school district for 33 years before retiring, while Denise dedicated 42 years as an emergency response dispatcher for multiple agencies throughout Okaloosa County. Their careers reflected a lifelong calling to support and care for others during moments when it mattered most.
Now enjoying retirement, Charles and Denise cherish traveling, spending time with friends, and creating lasting memories with their grandchildren. In 2024, their spiritual journey expanded in a profound new direction when a guest speaker at Unity introduced the congregation to Energy Sessions. Charles felt deeply called to this path and began apprenticing to study the practice more deeply. Since then, Charles and Denise have been honored to help others reconnect with their inner light, healing energy, and spiritual balance. Today, they are proud members of Unity of Pensacola.
Outside of their spiritual work, Denise enjoys crafting, solving puzzles, and finding peace in nature—especially near the beauty of mountain waterfalls. She also has a fond appreciation for classic crime and justice shows that honor those who serve and protect.
Charles finds joy in motorcycle rides, hands-on projects, and metal-detecting adventures. Known among family and friends for his unforgettable “mullet fries,” he proudly holds the title of master cook—though it has been years since his last legendary batch, much to everyone’s anticipation.
